We will hear a first hand experience of a local, woman entrepreneur (Tara Foley) in founding Follain in the South End, learn about the lack of regulation in the skincare industry, and how Follain addresses this market. Those interested will be able to try their products and cosmetics.
The idea for this concept was born when founder Tara Foley worked on an organic lavender farm in France, and later for a skincare manufacture in Maine. Through these experiences, Tara realized how difficult it was to find truly healthy, effective and environmentally-friendly skincare products in the U.S. No single U.S. beauty retailer offered healthy products only.
Tara is a recent graduate of Babson, where she earned an entrepreneurship-focused MBA and won Eden’s national retail business plan contest for the Follain concept. Since 2009, Tara has authored a blog on healthy skin care called The Naturalchemyst, and in doing so, established a presence among beauty brands and aestheticians alike. Tara holds a BA in Public Policy from Trinity College, as has additional experience in B2B and B2C marketing.
